Why do people get so hyped up about sporting events? I mean, what is the big deal? They really can't be that much more exciting than what is depicted in this video. I believe people have been fooled and need to be set straight...MATH is where the action is!
If Sam Dittmer can give up a scholarship to Stanford (2nd school for National Championships in sports) to become a BYU-"Math-lete" then there is something to be said about the adrenalin rush that comes from using Taylor Polynomials, derivatives, numerical methods and ordinary and partial differential equations! Watch the video and you will see...

Snow, Snow, Snow!
Snow...It won't be long before we'll all be there with snow...
Snow...I want to wash my hands, my face and hair with snow...
Snow...I long to clear a path and lift a spade of snow...
Snow...Oh, to see a great big man entirely made of snow...
Where it's snowing
All winter through
That's where I want to be
Snowball throwing
That's what I'll do
How I'm longing to ski
Through the snow-oh-oh-oh-oh...
You may be familiar with the movie "White Christmas" starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kay, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen. Well, I couldn't help but think of the famous song "Snow" that the quartet sang together as I looked at and took these pictures.
The first batch of pictures were taken on President's Day. We hiked the favorite Squaw Peak trail (the real one, not the scenic drive) and saw some beautiful country.
The second batch were during our ski trip up to Sundance on, yes, we admit, a school day! (The first one I have ever ditched! But it was well worth it!)
We love the snow!
